Trust Deed and Objectives

St Margaret’s Village Hall  is governed  by a ”Lease and Trust Deed”, which was executed on 17th December 1981 which established the role of Trustees. The Trustees,  and their successors are responsible for making sure that the Lease and Trust Deed are followed.  Amongst these responsibilities  were  that a St Margaret’s Village Hall Charity was formed and a Management Committee established.

The Management Committee has general control, management and administration responsibility for the Hall, which includes maintaining financial viability and Charity Commission reporting.

In summary, the objectives as set out in the Lease and Trust Deed were that St Margaret’s Village Hall  should be held ”upon trust”  for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Alderwasley in the County of Derby (“the area of benefit”) without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.

The St Margaret’s Village Hall charity is registered with Charity Commission for England and Wales. The registration number is 512268.

The Management Committee appointees are all volunteers.
